The Zebra DS8208 is a professional, wired barcode scanner from the premium DS82 range, designed for high-volume scanning environments – POS, self-checkout, light logistics and manufacturing. The 2 MP 2D imager (1600 x 1200 pixels) and PRZM Intelligent Imaging technology ensure fast and accurate capture of 1D, 2D, PDF417, OCR and Digimarc codes, including from phone screens or damaged labels.
The ergonomic design, low weight (approx. 176.5 g) and audible, visual and haptic feedback make it easy to use throughout the shift, reducing operator fatigue. The IP52 protection rating, resistance to multiple drops from 1.8 m onto concrete and 2,000 tumbles recommend it for intensive use in retail, warehouses and light manufacturing environments.
DS8208 is optimized for modern POS stations: it supports USB and RS232 interfaces, over 90 international keyboard layouts and is compatible with Checkpoint EAS systems for disabling anti-theft labels when scanned. Available models feature white illumination, vibration on read confirmation, and a Midnight Black housing, integrating elegantly into any retail environment.
With high motion tolerance (up to 160 in/sec) and a wide working range, operators can quickly scan both close-up items and products at the bottom of carts without multiple repositioning. This reduces queues and increases customer satisfaction at the point of sale.
