The Entrust Sigma DS2 LAMINATION is a Direct-to-Card card printer with lamination, designed for organizations that require high-security ID cards. The model is intended for issuing cards in corporate, institutional, educational and administrative environments, where visual personalization needs to be complemented by additional lamination protection. The Sigma platform is designed for modern environments and secure, scalable and easy-to-manage issuance workflows.
The data sheet confirms the dye-sublimation / resin thermal transfer printing technology, single or dual-sided capability and 300 dpi resolution. For printing and laminating, the Sigma DS2 LAMINATION achieves up to 200 cards per hour for YMCK on the front with front lamination and up to 175 cards per hour for YMCK-K on the front, K on the back and front lamination. In monochrome mode, the Sigma platform in this range offers up to 880 cards per hour single-sided, and for color printing speeds of up to 225 cards per hour single-sided and up to 140 cards per hour double-sided are indicated.
The printer is equipped with an input hopper for 125 cards, an output hopper for 25 cards and a reject hopper for 10 cards. Standard connectivity is via USB and Ethernet, and WiFi, magnetic stripe encoding and smart card encoding are available as options.
