Evolis Quantum is a professional card printer designed for the centralized personalization of functional cards in large volumes. It is a very efficient alternative to classic industrial equipment, offering high productivity, long autonomy and flexibility for diverse applications such as access control, identification, time & attendance, healthcare, telecommunications, membership cards or loyalty cards. Quantum combines the operating mode close to a desktop printer with the performance of a professional production system, being ideal for organizations that constantly issue large batches of personalized cards.

The printer uses direct-to-card dye-sublimation / resin thermal transfer technology and offers edge-to-edge, single-sided or dual-sided printing at a resolution of 300 dpi. This configuration allows for clear printing of texts, logos, barcodes and photos, both on simple cards and on functional cards that require advanced personalization. The 16 MB RAM allows simultaneous storage of data for the front and back of the card, contributing to workflow efficiency in duplex applications.

One of the strongest advantages of the Evolis Quantum series is its productivity. The printer can produce up to 1000 monochrome cards per hour in single-sided mode and up to 150 YMCKO color cards per hour. In dual-sided mode, the speed reaches 115 cards/hour for color YMCKO-K and up to 320 cards/hour for monochrome. These performances recommend it for card production centers, large organizations, universities, hospitals, security companies or service providers who need fast and consistent issuance.

Quantum is built for long-term reliability. The feeder and output hopper are removable and interchangeable, each with a capacity of 500 cards at 0.76 mm, and a separate reject hopper can hold up to 20 defective cards. The modular system allows for the installation and reversal of magnetic stripe and contact smart card encoders, and the connectivity also supports the integration of contactless encoders. Magnetic HiCo/LoCo encoding, smart contact ISO 7816-2, PC/SC, EMV 2000-1 and contactless ISO14443 A/B, MIFARE, DESFire and HID iCLASS are available.

In terms of usability and integration, the Evolis Quantum features a 2-line LCD display, status LEDs for monitoring printing and encoding, USB and Ethernet TCP-IP interfaces. The aluminum body and black plastic covers provide a robust construction, and an optional centralized locking system is available to secure access to the ribbon and loaded cards. The printer is compatible with CardPresso XXS for badge design and printing and with drivers for Windows, Mac and Linux. The standard warranty is 1 year for the printer and print head, limited to 500,000 insertions, with the possibility of extension.
