Underneath, the ET401 uses the Qualcomm® Dragonwing™ Q-6690 processor (up to 2.0 GHz), Zebra’s latest enterprise SoC with integrated AI and support for modern, cloud and next-generation wireless applications. It is three generations newer than the ET40/ET45 platform and offers a performance boost of over 42%, with announced support for up to 2034. 

Configuration of this SKU:

• 6 GB LPDDR5 RAM – enough for WMS, ERP, management applications, CRM, services and multimedia; 

• 64 GB UFS 2.2 Flash – fast internal storage for applications and data; 

• microSD slot up to 2 TB, for extensive logs, media files or local databases. 

For IT and management, this means a platform that remains stable and performant throughout the project, without premature fleet refresh is needed.

Connectivity Value: tri-band 2.4 / 5 / 6 GHz and Bluetooth 6.0

The ET4010A-0V101F0P-A6 model is Wi-Fi only (no 5G/4G) and addresses scenarios where all operations take place îon the company’s internal networks: warehouses, stores, production, logistics hubs, offices.

The tri-band radio covers 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz / 6 GHz, according to IEEE 802.11 be/ax/ac/n/a/g/b, with:

• support for channels from 20 to 320 MHz;

• data rates up to 5.7 Gbps in the 6 GHz band; 

• certifications Wi-Fi 7/6/6E, Voice-Enterprise, Enhanced Open, WPA3, etc. 

Even though the commercial name appears as “Wi-Fi 6E Value”, the radio hardware is ready for modern Wi-Fi infrastructures, including 6 GHz, ensuring a very good level of performance and scalability.

On the PAN side, Bluetooth 6.0 Class 1 (Classic + BLE) ensures stable and energy-efficient connections with peripherals – printers mobiles, headsets, keyboards, mice, external scanners and BLE beacons – with support for BLE Audio, beaconing and Bluetooth Channel Sounding. 

No integrated scanner – rear camera scanning for low volumes

This SKU is No Scan: it does not include the 1D/2D engine SE4100 or SR500. However, the ET401 supports rear camera scanning, and the 16 MP rear camera with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) can be used for occasional barcode scanning via dedicated software applications. 

The 8 MP front camera is ideal for video calls with support teams, managers or customers, making the tablet useful in collaboration scenarios as well remote. 

If you have high-volume scanning workflows, you can:

• use an external Bluetooth scanner, or

• opt for another ET401 SKU with integrated SE4100/SR500. 

Full-shift battery life – 6100 mAh, user-replaceable battery

The 8″ version is equipped with a 6100 mAh, 3.91 V (23.46 Wh) Li-Ion Polymer battery, user-replaceable, rated for a full day of work with Wi-Fi on and apps enterprise. 

Other options at the ET401 family level:

• hot-swappable 3400 mAh secondary battery, which allows changing without turning off the device (via expansion back); 

• battery-free operation – Directly powered operation via USB-C or bottom/back IO, ideal for kiosks, vehicles or fixed POS stations. 

ÎCharging can be done via USB-C (USB PD compatible) or via docks with pogo contacts, îdepending on the scenario. 

IP68 ruggedization and resistance to harsh environments

The Zebra ET401 8″ is designed for industrial environments:

• IP68 rating – completely dustproof and protected against temporary immersion îin water; 

• multiple drops from 1.2 m on concrete (up to 1.5 m with optional rugged frame), according to MIL-STD-810H; 

• operating temperature -20°C…+50°C, storage -40°C…+70°C, with thermal shock testing; 

• vibration resistance and ESD ±15 kV air, ±8 kV contact.

Android GMS, enterprise security and Zebra DNA™

ET401 runs Android with GMS support, and the LifeGuard™ for Android™ program provides regular security and OS updates, controllable by IT (timing, method – Wi-Fi, cradle, etc.). 

Security is ensured by:

• Secure Element and Android Strongbox, for protection îagainst physical attacks on hardware and unauthorized access to data; 

• on certain SKUs, HID® security chip for secure card/badge authentication; 

• integration with Identity Guardian and Single Sign-On, so users can quickly authenticate (including facial) and have unified access to applications.

The Zebra DNA™ suite (Workstation Connect, Zebra Pay, Workcloud Sync, Zebra Guardian, etc.) simplifies the enrollment, configuration, management, monitoring and optimization of the ET401 fleet.
