The Carl Valentin 9056996 label photocell is a complete optical sensor (label photocell cpl.) designed for the Vario III and Vario V industrial printers. It combines transmissive detection with bottom reflection detection, providing an extremely flexible solution for identifying label edges and reference marks (black marks).
Available as a factory option for new printers (surcharge for a new printer), the photocell is ideal for labeling applications îin which various label formats, special materials or back-printed markings are used. By combining the two optical principles, it ensures very precise positioning of the print even in difficult conditions.

Role and mode of operation
- Transmission mode – detects the edge of the label on the liner for correct feeding;
- Bottom reflection mode – reads color marks (e.g. black marks) printed on the back;

- Ensures stable label registration, even at high print speeds.
