Toshiba BA420T is a label printer designed for companies that need industrial performance in a compact format. The model is part of the BA400 series and uses a new software platform, designed for rapid integration into modern IT infrastructures, extensive connectivity and adaptability in dynamic work environments. With thermal transfer and direct thermal printing technology, Flat Head print head, speed up to 8 ips (203.2 mm/s) and resolutions of 203 dpi or 300 dpi , the BA420T is suitable for retail, logistics, warehouse, production and offices where space is limited.
The compact clamshell design with top-loading media simplifies consumable changes and reduces operating time. In addition, the printer supports common emulations such as ZPL II, SBPL, DPL, EPL and IPL , making it easy to integrate into existing applications. Standard connectivity includes USB 2.0 HS and Ethernet 10/100 , while optional Bluetooth , NFC , serial port, parallel port and additional modules are available to expand functionality. SOTI Connect certification also recommends it for IoT device management.

The difference between Near-Edge and Flat Head
The Toshiba BA420T uses Flat Head technology. In thermal transfer printing, the Flat Head makes direct contact with the Ribbon and label, which provides precise positioning, clear printing and good compatibility with a wide range of materials. Near-Edge technology is mainly aimed at higher speeds and more efficient Ribbon consumption, but can be more dependent on the right combination of Ribbon and material. For a variety of applications, standard labels and reliability in everyday use, Flat Head remains a very balanced choice.
